What to do while waiting for the pendulum

The problem with Kater’s pendulum as an experiment is that, in order to get a reasonably stable period, you need to let it run for about 30 minutes. So, either I sit completely rigid for 30-odd minutes, or I do something else. Such as…

1. Work on lab report
2. Got take some photos for practice
3. Doodle whatever comes into my head
4. Keep bullshitting here…
5. Look for more information for an essay
6. Read the news and ask myself what is wrong with humans
7. Keep bullshitting…
8. Get my CV checked, forget about the experiment, and come back to calculate the local acceleration due to gravity to be about 96.6% of the ACTUAL value…
