Black Death genetic code

Nature has published a draft genome of Yersinia pestis, better known as the “Black Death”.

Now, I’m a physics student, not a biologist, but it’s still pretty interesting. They extracted the genetic fragments from the teeth of victims, and they’ve concluded that most of the modern strains of plague are related to this.

That’s science for you – it will get some answers.
